I’ve been receiving
the Financial Tips newsletter by email now for about 3 months. I try to
keep up with the financial sections in the weekend newspapers but
increasingly find I don’t have the time to read them in the
detail I’d like.
Consequently I find the
newsletter very useful as I can digest the bite sized pieces of
information in the limited time I have available. Reassuringly they
usually back up my own thoughts on various financial matters and
occasionally they are thought provoking as they address a topic that I
haven’t been giving much consideration to.
There are some emails that
make your heart sink when you see the subject matter, but this is one I
always enjoy receiving.

RE: Financial Tips Email Newsletter and Your Financial Future
Dear Doctor or Dentist
No
matter what stage of life or career you're at, I can guarantee one
thing...
...getting
access to the right financial advice is becoming harder and harder for
many in the medical and dental professions.
In
the past there's traditionally been a few sources available, such as
BMA Services, Medical Sickness Society and various (usually specialist)
Independent Financial Advisers, not to mention the banks and building
societies who are always keen to promote and sell their own products to
you.
But
a worrying trend emerged in June 2005 when the whole structure of how
financial advice is offered to the UK public changed, bringing with it
a new breed of adviser that may be more oriented towards selling
policies than providing sound, research based financial advice.
This
new 'multi-tied' adviser can now offer you a number of policies from
different providers (as opposed to a tied adviser who can only deal
with one product provider), however the service they offer may be more
about how many policies they can sell to you. Even one of the leading
Independent Financial Advisory companies changed their service offering
from independent to 'multi-tie'.
It's
hard to believe they'd risk upsetting their clients, but they did.
And
here we believe lies a potential problem...
My
name is Ray Prince and, together with my colleague Graeme Urwin, we
have a combined experience of providing Independent Financial Advice to
UK resident doctors and dentists for over 30 years .
I've
personally given talks on all kinds of financial topics throughout the
UK, at Dental Schools, hospitals and GP practices. Interestingly I've
met many financial advisers who operate in this market, some good, some
mediocre, and, well, some I'd rather forget about.
Unfortunately,
many seemed more concerned with how many policies they could sell and
how much commission they'd earn, rather than how many long term
relationships they could build with their clients.
Getting
advice from a financial adviser usually involves making plans that will
potentially affect your financial future for the rest of your life.
It's absolutely crucial that you make the right financial decisions, as
mistakes (which you probably won't realise you've made at the time)
could cost you tens of thousands of pounds over time.
But
how can you tell if you've been given the right advice?
Often
there isn't an easy way to tell.
Very
early on in my financial services career I realised that the right
financial solution for clients did not always need them to buy yet
another financial policy. For example, for many the best solution was
to overpay their mortgage rather than investing the money in stock
market based funds.
I
knew this approach was unique, as not all these 'new' solutions paid a
commission. But in my mind it was best advice.
So
Graeme and I sat down and discussed how we could share the same
strategies that we recommend to clients to the thousands of doctors and
dentists who are NOT our clients.
In
the end we decided to use the power of the internet and launched the
Financial Tips Newsletter.
Here's
some of the topics you'll learn more about when you subscribe to the
Financial Tips Newsletter:

We
passionately believe that you can make better financial decisions when
you have more knowledge and information, and that's exactly what the
newsletter aims to do. It's written from a totally unbiased point of
view and you'll never find us recommending any specific investments or
companies.
Published
twice every month via email (and about 5 minutes to read), we aim to
give our subscribers the tips, techniques and strategies that will help
put them ahead financially. Not only that, we'll also send you specific
time sensitive announcements from time to time, so that you can make
decisions when information is current, not weeks or months old.
So...
...if you're tired of meeting with all different
types of financial adviser and are sick of being 'sold to'...
...if you want to save time...
...and if you want to finally get yourself
financially organised for your future...
...then this may be the most important newsletter
you ever subscribe to!
Whilst we can't offer you a money back guarantee
(as we're not asking you for money), Graeme and I stand behind all the
strategies that you're going to either learn about for the first time
or improve your knowledge.
I
appreciate you may already be using the services of a good financial
adviser. The Financial Tips newsletter is not designed to replace your
adviser, rather it's here to provide you with up to date strategies
that you can use in conjunction with your adviser.
We
look forward to welcoming you to the Financial Tips Newsletter!
Kind
regards,

Ray Prince
Financial Planner
